There is only one way to find out what works and that is by experimenting, plan something out and push it live, add some money to promote it and keep an eye on the analytics.
Before each post write down:
- Who am I targeting?
- Will they engage?
- Will They share my information?
- Does this help them?
- Does this entertain them?
After each post write down:
- Who did the post reach?
- Did anyone engage?
- Did anyone share the information?
- Did it help anyone?
- Dis it entertain anyone?
Now we have some analytics and we can see where the strong and weak points of the post. We tried it and we see where there was error.
The next step is to rinse and repeat!
Time to tweak the post, but before doing so ask yourself:
- Did the original post reach my demographic? If yes, repeat. If not, maybe change something.
- Did the original post recieve engagement? If yes, repeat. If not, maybe change something.
- Did the original post get enough people to share? If yes, repeat. If not, maybe change something.
- Did the original help anyone? If yes, repeat. If not, maybe change something.
- Did the original entertain anyone? If yes, repeat. If not, maybe change something.
If you follow this process with a few posts you will see what works and what does not work. You will know where to target the right audience for each post and which type of posts get the most engagement. Be sure to use hashtags and as many visuals as possible.
From our own experience we have uploaded many posts into communities and the posts that have captions on them get much more interaction than nothing at all. Keep it short and sweet.
